Spring '06: Congratulations to Eric Edwards for dominating the NMMA Restricter class with at least 28 wins, including the NMMA Easterns, NMMA Nationals in Oklahoma, with his FTZ R6 motor, carbs and pipes. Eric ended up the season with a massive points lead and the National championship.
Feb '05: We have been recommending the carbureted Yamaha R6 as first choice of engines in these classes. We feel this is the fastest legal carb, pipe, & motor combination available for these classes. Speed and reliability has been great.
Below is a list of popular items applicable to Yamaha R6 and most 600's:
"A" class/NonWing/Restrictor Engine Rebuild- With the popularity of the 600 stock, or "A"
class, as well as the 600 Sportsman or "Restrictor" class motors, we have been asked many times to come
up with more legal power for these cars. We can't blame them for not wanting to run a motor as is, straight from
the junkyard! Some kid may have abused the motor or let it run low on oil. Also, as new motors become more expensive
and harder to find, many guys just want their old motor rebuilt or freshened up for another season. There has also
been several cases where a motor out of a bike has been decked or modified, and the new owner is not aware of it
until it's found illegal in a teardown!
We've rebuilt many of these motors, and have had very good feedback from the customers. They have been very pleased
with the extra power and most feel like they now have an edge on the competition. Our valve seating and our precision
assembling are major factors in making the motor "better than new", and certainly better than right from
the salvage yard. Totally legal with all rules.
