2004 600 Micro Season : 2004 Season: NMMA Multi Championship #9 for FTZ 600's!! Paul Esworthy called us in the spring and told us he wanted to try a Yamaha R6 for 2004. After some discussion over whether to use carbs or fuel injection, we decided to dyno test and find out if there was a power difference to make the injection worth the trouble and expense. The testing showed that the carbs made the best power and the reliability and consistency was obviously proven by Paul winning the NMMA AA-Multi class National Championship. You have to finish well, in a lot of races, to win this title. This is the 9th consecutive National Championship for FTZ built 600 motors, carbs and pipes! Thanks to Paul and his excellent crew and sponsors for having continued confidence in us! Also a big "well done" goes to Tom & Richard Fitz of Bullrider Chassis, and Scotty Smith of Stallard Chassis for making our motors look good in the Northeastern states, and Good Job Scotty! on winning your feature at the '05 Tulsa Shootout!! We felt confident going into the season, that our new R6 Headwork, Carbwork and 2004 Exhausts were the very best available. "Air flow = Horsepower".....and Airflow is simply "what we do best." Six of the top Seven ranked "A" class drivers used FTZ 2004 Exhaust systems! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Aug '04: Jake Palmisano, Scott Sawyer, Paul Esworthy,1,2,& 3 at NMMA Nationals! Jake drove Broderick Burke's very hooked-up car to a new track record and a very impressive feature win. Brod's car is equipped with a R6 with our big-valve ported head and FTZ exhaust system, same as Scott's and Paul's R6s. Jake's "A"class R6 (2nd in feature) also uses our new exhaust. Great Job Guys! *July'04: Rick King sets fast time and wins "A" Class feature at NMMA Easterns! *May'04: New 2004 FTZ stuff off to a great start! Our new Yamaha R6 motors, pipes, and carbs are "on track" and are already racking up wins in nearly every 600 class: Multi, Outlaw, "A" class, Restrictor class and in the PA area. Former NMMA National Champs Scott Sawyer and Paul Esworthy are both using FTZ Yamaha R6 Multi's with carburetors. Both are pleased with the new power and are racking up many wins. Our "A" class and PA guys are winning races again this year, and the new "Restrictor" R6 set up is also very impressive. Our 2004 updated F3 motors are also making an impressive showing as well. Many of our fastest outlaw racers are using our well-proven Honda F3 motor with our 2004 updates.
